Free bikes
for those who need them.
Hanging Bikes, repaired and ready to ride!
We repair donated bicycles and e-bikes and give them to people who need reliable, low-cost transportation, usually through social workers and local nonprofits. We have new e-bikes for sale for about $300. They are equipped for transportation with fenders, a rack, lights, a horn and a step through frame.
Why it matters:
- People get to jobs.
- Young riders independently get to school.
- Refurbishing bikes keeps them out of landfills
- Easier errands.
- Builds health.
- Builds Community. We do better when all of us do better.

NEWS CENTER Maine recently visited our Rockland workshop to tell the story of Sure Beats Walking and how donated bicycles are helping people throughout Midcoast Maine gain independence, mobility, and opportunity.
